The back of Postcard 1 reads “As Usual, D. W. C.” It is addressed to Miss Cora O. Parks, Greenfield, Ohio 422 Lafayette St. and is dated October 23, 1914.

Halloween
Postcard 2 is from Mrs. F. Dutter, Lilacs, Pa. and is addressed to Miss Maggie Evans, 414 C. St. Greenfield, Ohio. It is dated October 5, 1916.

Southside School
This photo postcard of a baseball team dated 1910 is labeled “South Side Ball Team Greenfield, O.” The message on the reverse says “May 21, 1910 Dear Ankey, Do you know any of these. We have played two games this year. We played Central school three weeks ago and beat them 19 to 1. We played the high School last Saturday and beat 13 to 4. We play Harps factory team today. Good By Charles R. Eckhart. I get out of my examinations do not have to go to school next week. The letters on the boys shirts show what they play. did the comet hit you. The big band plays at Frankfort on the 30.” It is addressed to Mrs. H. I Gray, 411 4th Ave., Rome, GA.

Note: The information on the card was copied word for word with all mistakes made by the writer. The comet referred to was probably Halley ’s Comet which appeared in the April 1910 skies, a month before the card was written.

KSP Baseball Team
This photo postcard shows the Kappa Sigma Pi (Knights of St. Paul) baseball team. On the reverse is the following message:
“Hello Ankey. Am to busy to come and see you this year. This is our ball team. We have played 9 games & lost 2. Would love to see you wish you could come home. I will make $26 playing in the band at Chautauqua. Our Team will play every day during Chautauqua. I am going to camp at. With Love C.R.” Sent to Mrs. H. I. Gray, Rome Georgia.

1942 Baseball Team
This team was the third successive McClain varsity baseball team to win the District Class A championship. It also went on to play in the 1942 Class A State finals where it was defeated by Tiltonville. The team had an overall record for the year of 19 wins, 2 loses.

Dragon Artwork
Before Greenfield High School became McClain High School the school newspaper was called the Dragon. It came out on a regular schedule with news about the happenings in the school. It continued for many years in addition to the Dragon yearbook. The society has a collection of these newspapers both bound and individual copies.
