Greenfield Historical Society
Can YOU Help?
The Greenfield Historical Society is looking for some help in a number of ways:
- We are looking for memorabilia, pictures etc. to put in cabinet drawers in the Greenfield Grain and Hay building. Each drawer will contain the yearbook (Dragon) of the graduating class as well as other items unique to that class. Each class has its own drawer and the drawers go back to the early 1900's. If you can help by supplying the Dragon(s) or other memorabilia for a specific class or classes, please contact the Society.
- We are planning the exhibits for the kitchen and living areas in the Smith Tannery. If you have items circa 1821 that you believe would be pertinent, please contact us.
- Plans for the military museum continue. Do you have any old uniforms or other military items we could use? We'd love to hear from you if you do.
- Have you seen the Quilt Barns in nearby Adams County? They are beautiful. Maybe you would like to see a quilt block on your barn. We are looking into this project and of course would need barn owners who also would also be interested. If interested call Patsy Smith at 937-981-3675.
- If you have some time on Sunday afternoons, please consider being a volunteer from 1-5 p.m. to host the visitors center in the Greenfield Grain & Hay Building. Contact Patsy Smith at 937-981-3675 if you can offer your time.
- We also need volunteers to work on the buggy barn project which is creating a Buggy Museum. Greg Garman is in charge of the project. Call him at 937-981-4295 or Paul
Orr at 937-981-3350. We can also use period farm machinery and farming items for the museum.
