Followup session on September 3, 2015

It wasn't the greatest day weather-wise (hot and muggy), but Scott Andersen and John King returned to the OBG for about 4-5 hours to finish some work started during our previous session on August 23rd. Scott repaired some broken stones and John spent time on the above ground "box" which was begun last month. They also did some re-stacking of stones for another above ground marker. During the process a footstone was found for a nearby grave. All-in-all good progress as you can see from the pictures below.

More sessions will be planned for the future to continue this massive effort. If you would like to participate, give the Society a call and check our website calendar.

This is how we left this at the end of the August session.

Inside was full of various rocks and is where a footstone was found buried.

The side walls were dug out.

Finished look.

A few days later Scott and Venus added the flowers!

This stone was rebuilt from its broken pieces.

This is where we left this project after work in August.

Side walls had to be repaired.

It's new look!

Some more dirt will be added later.

Scott and Venus also planted hosta a few days later!

What a great look. More soil was also added.

Preparing to re-insert the engraved marker.

Some of the stones in the wall needed attention also.

Stones were restacked to get them off the ground.

Footstone found in pile of rock and dirt.

View showing overall improvement to the cemetery.

What a difference from when work started.

Join the effort to continue this project so the entire cemetery can look this good!
