Work session on August 23, 2015

What a great day for this work session! Beautiful weather and a great turnout of volunteers to continue our progress in repairing stones from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Work consisted of straightening stones, cleaning stones, repairing some of the above ground "boxes", and we even found some new markers hidden under the surface! You can see from the pictures below that we had a great day. Thanks to all the volunteers: Scott Andersen, Venus Andersen, Jackie Doles, Skyler Grate, Phyllis Kerr (Florida), John King, Gloria Losey, Melanie Peters, Harold Schmidt, Judy Schmidt, Jim Thompson, Geneva Weaver (Columbus).

More sessions will be planned for the future to continue this massive effort. If you would like to participate, give the Society a call and check our website calendar.

Judy Schmidt continued working on the flower beds around Travellers Rest.

This is believed to have been a flower bed monument needing work.

The head and foot stones were sunken and misalligned and the side pieces had sunken and separated from the head/foot.
