Volunteers Make a Difference

A few volunteers gathered at the Old Burying Ground adjacent Travellers Rest on May 24, 2014, to clean and repair gravestones. Over the years many of the gravestones have become very difficult to read and many have been damaged. Led by Scott Andersen, he was joined by his wife Venus, Shirley Shields, Patsy Smith, Susan Thompson and John King for a few hours to work on gravestones. The pictures below give you an idea of the condition of many before repair and how they looked afterwards. More sessions will be planned for the future to continue this massive effort. If you would like to participate, give the Society a call.
